This is the first of a series of eps that will gladly see the light of day from artists from Italy to Philly, San Diego to Sweden. We?ve already seen a year that has embraced with open arms the likes of Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Onra, Dorian Concept to name but a few various organizations tapping into this newly seething mass of technological machine crunchers.

First up Morpheground hailing from Italy to lead the group into a blast of sound that is anything but be easy on the ear but will definitely find it?s place into your rhythmic sections with twisted unsyncipated glitches & melodies so out there youd think he was of another dimensional parallel.

Next to bang we have Knowledge hailing from Philadelphia home to so many already legendary producers, knowledge comes with his own tinge of home made hi tech soul.

Reggie B Planet H Productions has already caused a ripple in the Hi Tech Soul market as a outstanding producer & singer in his own right releasing a string of albums & singles and also guest features on various other projects as well as production credits on Daru & Reggie B Future Music for Circulations (Japan) And also 4 Lux (Rotterdam) as well as featuring on uncountable songs for the innate crew which are a collective of producers rappers & singers which span a few states in the U.S.A members including Miles Bonny, Daru Jones, Leonardo Destroy, C.E.S Cru & John Brewer definitely a talent to watch for in the coming years.

Sweden seems to be producing a lot of talent these days always a place with forward think individuals home to groups such as Hearin Aid & Hygher baby, Mello and also our featured guests like Erik L gives us a taste for jazz tinged chopped loops with a sprinkling of his very own melody chops.

Busy is one character we guess will go far in this music industry already producing tracks for U.S Soul diva Teisha Marie Unscripted, & raid/light curtain being released on circualtionsm other styles seem to run more left of the contemporary set with low 8-bit distorted & filtered chords and drums to lift the tracks towards more Extreme sonically challenged arrangements.

Interviu a Random Gonzalez y Sparkle Morris [Noctambulo]

Random González y Mr. Sparkle Morris Con ganas de mortificar Fotos y texto por: Joel Cintrón Arbasetti ¿Quién no recuerda a Miami Vice, Conan o Pacman? ¿Y qué me dicen de las gafas oscuras en la noche, el new wave y la amenaza nuclear? Eso pasó en la apocalíptica década de los años ochenta de Reagan y Thatcher. Años de conservadurismo en los que el punk resistía dando sus últimos gritos y comenzaba a nacer la cultura del hip hop. Son muchos los que no vivieron esos años a plenitud, pero si vivieron muy bien la década de los noventa. Pasados los años noventa, ya adentrados en el periodo del 2000, la presente generación está bastante consciente como para poder dar un vistazo atrás y revisar esa década tan oscura - y brillante a la vez - que fueron los “eighties”.

Así lo hicieron Daniel Ortiz y Luís Viera, mejor conocidos como Danny y Luillo, quienes comenzaron su parodia posmoderna con una canción llamada “Todo está espacio” y luego otra que titularon “Mr. Sparkle Morris”. “Estábamos hablando por teléfono y tripiando con sonidos retros y clichés de los años ochenta, se nos fue la mano y salió Random González, en verdad creo que se nos fue la mano”- comentó Luillo. Esas primeras dos canciones tienen ese sonido “ochentoso”: sintetizadores, voces robóticas, ritmos funk y disco, pero remirado de manera muy peculiar.

“Todo comenzó como un chiste sin sentido pero el sonido de ahora está más enfocado en joder la pista de baile”- declaró Danny.

Para lograr su nuevo objetivo (joder la pista de baile) Random González y Mr. Sparkle Morris han mezclado sus viejas influencias del new wave, el synth pop y el electro, con la nueva corriente del llamado “Nu Rave” que desde el 2006 ha ido penetrando poco a poco en las escenas subterráneas de Inglaterra, Francia y Nueva York.

Comenta Luillo que “el cambio surgió con “Money Fucker”, un track súper pesado y crazy… ahora como que estoy borderline entre lo dark, harsh y I wanna party ‘till 2:00 p.m. kind of sound.” Pero según Luillo, está en agenda sacar un disco con las primeras canciones “más ochentonas” de Random González.

A medida que fue cambiando el sonido, también cambiaron los intereses de los dos músicos que formaban el dúo llamado Random González; por lo que decidieron separarse. Ahora Luillo hace su música bajo el seudónimo Random González y Danny usa el nombre de Mr. Sparkle Morris. A pesar de producir su música por separado, las similitudes en el sonidos son obvias y las colaboraciones entre los dos siguen siendo recurrentes, tanto en vivo como en el estudio. Para producir su música utilizan desde Ableton Live hasta FL Studio, un Sintetizador Micro Korg y según Danny, también usan güiros y maracas. “Lo más que uso para producir es el aburrimiento y un mental picture, creo que ése es el sonido, después vas arreglando todo hasta que escuches la canción y el mental picture se represente”, dice Luillo.

Además de Random González y Sparkle Morris, Danny y Luillo han creado o participan de otros proyectos de música electr?nica, hip hop y rock. Danny ha sido guitarrista en la banda Los Sonidos Distantes y en Vic Vega and The Caligaris, también produce hip hop bajo el seudónimo Overlord. Luillo es integrante la banda Exp Lab y tiene un proyecto de IDM y ambient llamado Quarter Turn entre otras cosas secretas de las cuales no quiso emitir comentarios.

El pasado 6 de octubre Random González y Mr. Sparkle Morris se presentaron en Don Pablo como parte del “Scion Next fest”, que tuvo lugar en la Calle San Sebastián del Viejo San Juan. Ahí tuvieron la oportunidad de hacer un “DJ set” con el que presentaron la mayoría de sus canciones nuevas. Esa noche muchas personas que no necesariamente están familiarizadas con “la escena” o ese tipo de música en general, pudieron bailar y disfrutar de una música que, aunque diferente, fue muy bien aceptada por la mayoría del público. Esa noche se cumplió el objetivo que se propusieron Luillo y Danny de hacer brincar a la gente. Este dúo, como muchos otros artistas o grupos, tienen muchas canciones pero no han lanzado un disco. Sus canciones sólo se pueden escuchar en vivo en los diferentes “shows” o en el Internet.
